There is an 'overapplication' (think overgeneration) of a phonological conditioning rule in the isiZulu engine.
The morphological analyses of the word nabezindlu according to ZulMorph (https://portal.sadilar.org/FiniteState/demo/zulmorph/) are as follows:
- na[SCPT][2pp]ba[PC][14]i[NPrePre][10]zin[BPre][10]ndlu[NStem][9-10]
- na[SCPT][2pp]ba[PC][2]i[NPrePre][10]zin[BPre][10]ndlu[NStem][9-10]
If we were to use the conditioning rules found in sources [1,2,3] then na-ba-i-zin-ndlu would become nambezindlu in the same way that na-bili becomes nambili. However, the application of the rule in the first case is not correct.
