BMS-EV translates between the vehicle's original BMS and the inverter's expected CAN protocol:
- Pylontech-derived — Deye, Growatt, most Chinese hybrid inverters
- BYD Battery-Box HVS — SOFAR HYD, GoodWe EH/ET, Fronius, some SolaX
- SolaX native — X1/X3 Hybrid G4 series
- SMA BAT-CAN — SMA Sunny Boy/Tripower Smart Energy
- Sungrow SBH/SBR — Sungrow SH series (with Pylontech fallback)
- KOSTAL Smart Battery — Kostal Plenticore Plus
- Fronius Solar Battery — BYD-compatible

Huawei’s battery interface is built around its own LUNA2000 battery system, which operates in a 350-560 V DC window. Most whole EV packs do not sit inside that window across their full state-of-charge range — a Tesla Model 3 pack runs 260-410 V and a BMW i3 pack 260-395 V, both below the lower bound at mid and low SoC.
A Huawei installation therefore requires a DC/DC converter between the battery pack and the inverter’s battery input, sized for the pack voltage range and the inverter’s rated battery power. That converter is an additional component in the bill of materials and an additional conversion stage in the energy path, so expect a round-trip efficiency penalty compared with a direct-connect inverter such as SOFAR HYD, Deye SG01HP3 or GoodWe ET, which accept the pack voltage directly. For a new build a direct-connect HV inverter is the simpler and more efficient path; the Huawei option exists where a SUN2000 is already installed.
