Becheler/README.md

Freelance C++ engineer based near Paris.

  • I currently work on the Boost Graph Library for the C++ Alliance, modernizing a 20-year-old library to C++14/17 in a way that doesn't break the existing ecosystem:
    • improving documentation and unit tests,
    • simplifying design and expanding graph algorithms coverage,
    • making the library more accessible to researchers and industrial users working with large-scale graphs
  • I organized the Boost.Graph 2026 Workshop in Paris.
  • I'm a member of WG21, the ISO C++ standards committee, through INCITS (the US national body), sponsored by the C++ Alliance. I take part in review discussions of standards proposals, recently P3100 and P4324.
  • I regularly serve as a Review Manager for Boost library submissions (Boost.Bloom, Boost.Int128).
  • PhD in computational biology, 12+ years of C++.
  • Resume

What I do

  • Contract C++ development: library and API design, generic programming, performance work, modernizing legacy codebases.
  • C++ training: architecture and design courses delivered independently and through Human Coders and Sparks, in French or English. Details and testimonials.

Writing

I blog about C++ design at becheler.github.io : recent posts on policy-based design, the singleton anti-pattern, and modern C++ patterns. Doodles are mine 😉
