Led by **Dr. Virginia Martinez-Martinez** and **Dr. Ignacio Arganda-Carreras**, IEMSB brings together researchers from the **University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU)** and the **Spanish National Research Council (CSIC)** at the Instituto Biofisika. The project connects molecular, cellular and tissue scales through advanced imaging, artificial intelligence, chemistry and quantitative biophysics.

The initiative will run from **2026 to 2029** and has been awarded **649,000 EUR**. Its research is organised around structural biology and cellular architecture, tissue biophysics, AI-based imaging tools, and chemistry-driven tools for imaging, in close coordination with the Basque imaging platforms **BRALM**, **BREM** and **BRAIIAN**.
