Nothing has been replaced: your text is intact, and you can check by reading the line with `VO+L`. The cause is not yet known, and the same announcement has been reported in other Markdown editors, so it may come from VoiceOver rather than VS Code. Turning off macOS text replacements did not stop it. If it happens to you, add your macOS, VoiceOver and VS Code versions to [issue #175](https://github.com/Community-Access/git-going-with-github/issues/175) so we can narrow it down.
