AGENTS.md - cryptos-manager

Guide for AI agents working in this repository. Pair with CLAUDE.md (the working agreement and hook-enforced rules). Keep this file current when the build, layout, or public API changes.

What this is

Fleet Manager backend for CryptOS-PKI: cross-node aggregation, inventory, and chain-of-trust visualization over mTLS gRPC.

Using manager

Conventions and gotchas

  • See CLAUDE.md for the branch/commit/PR rules; they are enforced by the git hooks in .claude/hooks (run bash .claude/hooks/install.sh once per clone).
  • Open every PR as a draft. CI skips drafts, so run the full checks locally, push once they pass, and mark the PR ready when the work is finished; see CLAUDE.md "CI and Actions minutes".
  • Keep the github.com/CryptOS-PKI/cryptos-node pin current. The web talks to the manager in Connect JSON, and connect-go decodes JSON with unknown fields discarded, so any field the pinned node types don't know is silently dropped from node configs and profiles on read, apply and adopt. Bump the pin (then task generate) whenever the node API adds a field the web or the nodes send. internal/fleet/wire_roundtrip_test.go drives those paths over JSON; add each new field to its fixtures.
