CogniVis 🧠✨
Thought is invisible. Until you give it a form.
CogniVis is a brain–computer interface (BCI) experiment I built to transform live EEG signals into a neuron‑inspired generative visual system.
Using real‑time brain activity, CogniVis bridges neuroscience, generative art, and interactive systems—allowing cognitive states like focus and relaxation to directly shape visual form.
🔬 What is CogniVis?
CogniVis captures live EEG data using a Behaveneu EEG headband, processes it in real time with Python, and streams the extracted cognitive state into TouchDesigner, where it drives a dynamic, neuron‑like generative structure.
Instead of traditional inputs (mouse, keyboard, MIDI), the system responds to mental state itself.
As cognition shifts, the visuals respond instantly:
🔴 Focused state → Red 🔵 Relaxed state → Cyan / Blue
This project explores how creative tools can evolve beyond reactive systems into interfaces driven directly by human cognition.

🚧 Work in Progress
CogniVis is an ongoing exploration at the intersection of EEG, generative art, and real-time systems. The current implementation focuses on mapping high-level cognitive states to visual behavior, but this is only the starting point.
Future iterations will explore:
Richer EEG feature extraction and temporal dynamics
More expressive visual grammars driven by neural patterns
Deeper integration between cognition, interaction, and form
This repository will evolve as the system matures.
