Founder & CEO @ PayVista | Software Engineer | Fintech & Financial Inclusion Builder | Internet4All Burundi
I am Eddy Kubwimana, a Burundian entrepreneur, software engineer, and financial inclusion advocate building technology for underserved communities across Africa.
I am the Founder & CEO of PayVista, a fintech company focused on strengthening the financial infrastructure behind mobile money and agent networks in emerging markets.
I also founded Internet4AllBurundi, a community connectivity initiative bringing affordable, reliable internet access, digital skills, computers, and online learning opportunities to underserved rural communities in Burundi.
My work sits at the intersection of technology, fintech, entrepreneurship, financial inclusion, digital infrastructure, and social impact.
I build technology that expands access to opportunity.
PayVista is a Burundi-based fintech building infrastructure that helps mobile money agents access liquidity, working capital, and financial services so they can serve their communities more reliably.
Our work focuses on solving practical problems faced by financial agents and small businesses:
- Mobile money agent liquidity and float management
- Working capital and agent financing
- Data-driven credit assessment
- Financial analytics and transaction intelligence
- Digital financial infrastructure
- Financial inclusion for underserved communities
PayVista has grown from an early-stage idea into a growing fintech serving hundreds of mobile money agents, creating employment, deploying financing, and building technology for financial operators in Burundi.
Mission: Build the financial infrastructure that enables underserved communities and businesses to participate more fully in the economy.
Technology cannot create opportunity when people cannot access the internet.
That is why I founded Internet4All Burundi — a community connectivity initiative designed to bring reliable internet access and digital learning opportunities to underserved communities.
The first hub launched in Shombo, Burundi, my home community.
Internet4All combines:
- Affordable community internet
- Access to computers and digital tools
- AI and technology learning
- Online education and research
- Support for students and young people
- Digital opportunities for entrepreneurs
- Access to online government and public services
The long-term goal is to develop a replicable rural digital-access model for Burundi and other underserved communities across Africa.
Where someone lives should not determine what they can learn, build, or become.
I graduated from Ashesi University with a BSc in Computer Science, Cum Laude.
My journey has taken me from studying computer science to building companies and technology solutions aimed at addressing real economic and social challenges in Africa.
I was fortunate to receive support through programs including the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, the Palantir Global Impact Scholarship, and the Ashesi Venture Incubator.
These experiences shaped my belief that technology should not simply be innovative — it should solve meaningful problems and expand opportunity.
I am particularly interested in:
- Financial inclusion in Africa
- African fintech and emerging-market innovation
- Mobile money ecosystems
- Digital financial infrastructure
- Data-driven lending
- Financial technology for small businesses
- Digital inclusion and connectivity
- Rural technology development
- Entrepreneurship and venture building
- Technology for social and economic impact
- AI and digital transformation
- Inclusive economic development
My engineering experience spans product development, web applications, APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, and financial technology systems.

I believe Africa does not lack talent.
Too often, people lack the infrastructure, capital, technology, information, and opportunities needed to turn that talent into economic value.
My work is therefore focused on building those missing bridges.
Capital → Opportunity
Technology → Access
Connectivity → Knowledge
Infrastructure → Economic Participation
I am currently focused on:
- Scaling PayVista's fintech infrastructure
- Expanding financial services for mobile money agents
- Building data-driven lending and liquidity systems
- Strengthening financial ecosystems in Burundi and East Africa
- Expanding Internet4All hubs to more underserved communities in Burundi

I am interested in connecting with:
- Fintech founders and builders
- Investors and impact investors
- Development organizations
- African technology entrepreneurs
- Researchers and academics
- Open-source developers
- Financial institutions
- Digital infrastructure partners
- Fellowship and scholarship programs
- Organizations working on financial and digital inclusion
If you are working on technology, finance, entrepreneurship, or infrastructure that can expand opportunity in Africa, I'd love to connect.
