Sync hidden contacts

I did get this to run but it looks like it syncs contacts marked as hide from GAL. Am I missing something or is there a way to do this?

@alanjgorman I opened PR #43 with an opt-in -ExcludeHiddenFromAddressList switch for Sync-O365PersonalContact.

What it does:

• filters out users when Graph returns showInAddressList = false
• leaves existing behavior unchanged unless the switch is used
• warns if -MemberTypes Contact is included, because Microsoft Graph org contacts do not expose an equivalent hidden-from-address-list property

If you get a moment, could you let me know whether this solves your scenario, or whether you also need the same behavior for org contacts?

Well something strange is going on. I installed the Install-GitModule and tried to install the branch and it finally ran without an error. I put the switch in there and it errored out with invalid switch. I took the switch out and ran it to rebuild my contacts and it looks like the hidden contacts did not go in...

It looks like it did not get the first few hidden addresses but then did start including them....I can just go in manually and remove them from my list.

@alanjgorman A couple of concrete things to try, because your last updates sound like two different issues may be getting mixed together:

1. If -ExcludeHiddenFromAddressList says invalid switch, that usually means PowerShell is still using an older loaded copy of the module.

   • close that PowerShell session and open a fresh one
   • re-import/reinstall the PR branch
   • then confirm the parameter is really there with:
     Get-Command Sync-O365PersonalContact -Syntax
     or
     Get-Help Sync-O365PersonalContact -Parameter ExcludeHiddenFromAddressList

2. Test with only user objects first:
   Sync-O365PersonalContact -UserId 'youruser@domain.com' -MemberTypes 'Member' -ExcludeHiddenFromAddressList -Verbose

3. If that runs, look at the verbose output.
   The current branch filters only users where Microsoft Graph returns showInAddressList = False explicitly.
   If Graph returns that property as
   ull or does not return it for some users, those users stay in scope.

4. If you normally use -MemberTypes 'Member','Contact', try the same command with just Member first.
   Graph org contacts do not expose an equivalent hidden-from-address-list property, so the switch is only reliable for user objects.

If you get a chance, the most useful next clue would be:

• whether a fresh PowerShell session makes the switch appear
• whether Member-only behaves differently from Member,Contact
• a short snippet of the -Verbose output around one address that still comes through

That should tell us pretty quickly whether this is a module-loading problem or a Graph data/coverage limitation.
