Skilleton CLI Code of Conduct

Our Pledge

We as members, contributors, and leaders pledge to make participation in the Skilleton CLI community a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, visible or invisible disability, ethnicity, gender, level of experience, education, socioeconomic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or technical stack preference.

Our Standards

We commit to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment by:

Behavior

  • Using welcoming and inclusive language
  • Being respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences
  • Gracefully accepting constructive criticism
  • Focusing on what is best for the community
  • Showing empathy toward other community members

Unacceptable Behavior

  • The use of sexualized language or imagery
  • Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments
  • Personal or political attacks
  • Public or private harassment
  • Publishing others' private information without explicit permission
  • Any other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate

AI Usage Policy

Project Bootstrap

This project was initially bootstrapped using AI assistance to establish the foundation codebase and documentation. The project logo was also generated using AI tools.

Contributor AI Guidelines

Allowed Uses

  • Learning and exploration: Using AI to understand concepts or existing code
  • Code suggestions: Getting ideas or approaches for implementation
  • Documentation assistance: Improving wording or structure of documentation
  • Debugging help: Identifying potential issues in code
  • Security reviews: Getting feedback on security best practices

Required Workflow for AI-Assisted Contributions

  1. Issue First: Always file an issue describing the problem or feature before implementing
  2. Discussion: Wait for community discussion and approval before proceeding
  3. Human Review: All AI-generated code must be thoroughly reviewed by a human
  4. Testing: AI-assisted changes must be manually tested before submission
  5. Attribution: Clearly acknowledge AI assistance in pull requests

Prohibited Uses

  • Direct submission: Do not submit AI-generated code without human review
  • Automated agents: No automated bots or AI agents may contribute directly
  • Bulk changes: Avoid large-scale AI-generated refactoring
  • Dependency management: AI should not choose or update dependencies

Requirements for AI-Assisted Contributions

  • Minimal changes: Keep AI-assisted changes focused and minimal
  • Human understanding: Contributors must fully understand the changes they submit
  • Manual verification: All AI suggestions must be manually verified and tested
  • Code quality: AI-assisted code must meet project standards and guidelines

Human-Only Contributions

  • All contributions must be submitted by humans
  • Automated agents, bots, or AI systems may not directly contribute
  • Pull requests must be created and maintained by human contributors
  • Code reviews must be performed by human maintainers

If you witness or experience conduct that violates this code, please report it to:

All reports will be reviewed and investigated in a timely and confidential manner.

Consequences

Community members who violate this code may face:

  • Warning and education about the violation
  • Temporary suspension from community participation
  • Permanent ban from community participation

Appeal Process

If you believe a consequence is unjust, you may appeal by emailing au54vz9rk[at]mozmail[.]com with a detailed explanation of the situation.

This Code of Conduct is adapted from the Contributor Covenant and modified to include specific AI usage guidelines for this project.
