AGENTS.md

React 19 + TanStack Start app with two builds from one codebase: an SSR build (Nitro) and an SPA build (static). pnpm, Node 24.

Before finishing a change

Run pnpm check (format, type-aware lint, typecheck, unused code) and pnpm test. When the change touches routing, rendering or anything that differs between the two builds, also run pnpm test:e2e. Other scripts are in package.json.

Where to look

  • GLOSSARY.md: the project's vocabulary. Use its terms in code, tests, commits and PRs.
  • docs/adr/: why the surprising choices were made. Read the ones that touch your change.
  • CODING_STANDARDS.md: the conventions reviews check. Read it before writing code.

Gotchas

  • src/routeTree.gen.ts is generated by the dev server and the build. Change routes in src/routes/.
  • Import app code through #/, which maps to src/.
  • Add shadcn/ui components with pnpm dlx shadcn@latest add <component>, then run pnpm format.
  • @shadcn/lint errors name the variant, size or theme token to use instead. Apply that fix.
