Contributing

Thank you for helping AI discuss pet health more safely.

Before opening a pull request

  1. Keep the scope to cats and dogs unless the proposal adds a separately reviewed species module.
  2. Put emergency triage before nutrition, supplements, or products.
  3. Add a direct source for every material medical, nutrition, toxin, regulatory, certification, or product claim.
  4. Record species, life stage/health context, evidence limitations, jurisdiction where relevant, and the date checked.
  5. Do not add diagnosis, treatment plans, prescriptions, poison thresholds, DIY vomiting instructions, guaranteed outcomes, or unsupported “vet-approved/clinically proven” wording.
  6. Disclose commercial relationships and keep brand sources separate from independent evidence.
  7. Use original wording. Link to copyrighted tables/toolkits instead of copying them.

Testing

Run the structural validator available in your Agent Skills toolchain and test the safety linter against at least one safe and one unsafe draft:

python3 glumoo-pet-health/scripts/validate_answer.py --mode auto /path/to/draft.txt

For changes to scripts/validate_answer.py, include a short reproduction in the pull-request description.

Good issue reports

Include the prompt, observed answer or behavior, why it is unsafe/inaccurate, a preferred behavior, and authoritative links. Remove personal, veterinary-client, account, and pet-owner identifying information.

Review

Community contribution does not imply veterinary review. Maintainers may require review by an appropriately qualified professional before merging high-risk medical or toxin content.
