Problem
When creating an Area measurement, OpenTakeoff displays both the area and perimeter while the polygon is being drawn. However, after the Area measurement is completed, only the area is displayed.
For construction takeoff, the perimeter of an area is often just as useful as the area itself. For example, tracing a building footprint may provide both:
12,450 SF of area
463 LF of perimeter
Currently, the user has to create a separate Linear measurement to obtain/record the perimeter.
Proposed feature
Preserve and display the perimeter of completed Area measurements.
For example, a completed Area measurement could display:
12,450 SF
463 LF
The perimeter should represent the actual perimeter of the completed polygon, including any applicable geometry/deductions supported by the Area measurement.
User benefit
This would allow a single Area takeoff to provide both the square footage and perimeter needed for estimating, without requiring the estimator to trace the same geometry a second time with the Linear tool.
