…s const The audit job's identity needle matched the builder's name in two agent docs (live-session-experiment, shell-startup-research): redacted to user-neutral phrasing. cargo fmt wanted GREETER_TMPFILES on one line. No behavior change.
…hes the pin The greetd smoke fails with 'greeter exited without creating a session' and the journal cannot say why: the greeter chain's stderr (niri's protocol errors, kuma-greeter's log lines) goes to VT1 and dies with the session. Both processes now append to /var/log/kuma-greeter.log, tmpfiles-owned 0600 greetd, and the greeter runs at RUST_LOG=debug for one diagnostic boot. Also sync GREETER_NIRI_KDL to kumaui's greeter-niri.kdl (a795f43): the copy had drifted — no layout block, no background-color. The failure predates it (kuma-greeter is new in the whole 38-commit pin range, not a regression), but the drift hazard stands; the smoke run that reads the new log settles the zero-viewport hypothesis. Measured fact: the image's niri is 26.04-1.fc44, the same version the VT2 rehearsal validated against.
…lessed GREETER_NIRI_KDL gained background-color "#11111B", whose quote- hash sequence terminated the r#"..."# literal at the color instead of the end of the config: the tree did not compile. r##"..."## now. Goldens re-blessed with UPDATE_GOLDENS=1; the manifest delta is exactly the three staged files this change intends to move (greeter-niri.kdl, kuma-greeter-session, kuma-greeter-tmpfiles.conf) and nothing else. Full test suite green (96 + 425 + 2).
The pin followed kumaui main: a795f439 (session-deploy: record the measured warm-login shell-side cost). The audit's identity needle and rustfmt fixes ride earlier commits in this stack. AGENTS.md gains the two facts this week's smoke taught: the greeter chain's stderr lives in /var/log/kuma-greeter.log, not the journal; and a quoted KDL value needs r## inside a Rust raw string.
The CI toolchain moved to stable 1.99 this morning and its rustfmt collapses the Vec<String> arg-array build in inspect.rs. Local container rustfmt agrees; no behavior change.
… message The audit gate reads the last 50 commit messages; this week's scrub commit failed it by quoting what it removed, and fixing that cost a force-push the branch rule exists to prevent. The fact, learned the hard way.
