Refs #525 (ask 1 only — asks 2 and 3 stay open on the issue)

What changed

skills/doctor-triage.md Step 4 lane table, "Standalone CDN toolchain" row (line 100), and the macOS paragraph below it (lines 104-106). Before, they said the ~/.mxcli/mxbuild/ cache is "Linux only — it is an ELF", and that on macOS "the CDN lane never existed there at all". Now they say: Linux; macOS only when the cached build is Mach-O. Run file ~/.mxcli/mxbuild/<ver>/modeler/mx first. Windows: unverified.

This covers ask 1 of #525 only. The "what runs where" README section and the app-restart.sh hint wording are not part of this PR.

Evidence

  • Local lane: no single 'what runs where' answer (MxBuild/runtime/DB/Playwright, Docker or not); doctor-triage says the ~/.mxcli/mxbuild cache is Linux-only but it holds a working Mach-O arm64 build on macOS #525, macOS arm64: file on ~/.mxcli/mxbuild/11.14.0/modeler/{mx,mxbuild} shows Mach-O 64-bit executable arm64, and mx check runs ("0 errors").
  • ELF on macOS for other versions: skills/mpr-corruption-and-sp-load-errors.md:54-57 (11.12.x, ELF 64-bit LSB pie executable, ARM aarch64, exec format error) and bug-logs/mxcli-bugs.md:1168, plus a 2026-10-21 field report of an ELF 10.24.18 entry. So whether the cache lane runs on a Mac depends on the binary in the cache, not on the platform. The row now says to test it.
  • Code agrees: project-bin/_common.sh find_mxbuild (~l.605) uses $cache/modeler/mxbuild on non-Windows platforms with no platform exclusion, and its find_mxcli_cache header describes the cache as the gate for "a machine WITHOUT Studio Pro".
  • Windows: no field evidence either way (find_mxbuild looks for modeler/mxbuild.exe in the cache). The row says "unverified" and does not claim either answer.

Word count

skills/doctor-triage.md is on-demand (bin/lib/skill-routing.tsv:213, ondemand), not baseline. bin/render-routing.sh --check reports Baseline: 64252 words (budget 80000) both before and after. The file itself went from 1495 to 1519 words (wc -w, +24).

Fixtures

The only fixture that mentions the file, tests/wave2/test-authoring-audit.sh:30, uses its path as a routing label. It does not grep the file's content, and the routing row is unchanged. tests/advisory/routing-phrasings.tsv references only the path. Checked by inspection, no suite run.

Review: MERGE-AFTER-FIX — fix applied (PR body: Fixes #525 → Refs #525, so asks 2 and 3 are not auto-closed)

#525)

The lane table said ~/.mxcli/mxbuild/ is 'Linux only - it is an ELF' and
unavailable on macOS for every Mendix version. #525 measured a Mach-O arm64
mx/mxbuild in the 11.14.0 cache on macOS that runs 'mx check'; ELF entries were
seen on macOS for 10.24 (contrib inbox 2026-10-21) and 11.12
(mpr-corruption-and-sp-load-errors.md). The row now says: test with 'file'.
