Hi. I build the platforms that other engineers build on.
I lead the FinAIOps, platform engineering and observability practice at StatusNeo, which in practice means Kubernetes, GitOps, developer portals, and working out what all of it ought to cost. My favourite kind of win is a quiet one: a team that used to wait weeks for an environment gets it in minutes, and stops having to think about me at all.
I found open source in college, on what happened to be India's first DevOps specialisation, and never really stopped. Ten thousand or so contributions later, the part I am proudest of is not any of them. It is the thousand and more students I sat with through their first pull request.
GitHub made me a Star in 2021, 2022 and 2023. Around a hundred developers a year are chosen from a community of a hundred million, and I was the second from India. It was never about commit count. It was for the teaching, the Linux Foundation university partnerships, and helping companies here adopt GitHub properly.
Backstage is Spotify's developer portal, a CNCF incubating project used by more than 20 million developers. I have been contributing to it for years. It is adopted by Mercedes-Benz, Netflix, Vodafone, DAZN, American Airlines, Expedia Group and Marks & Spencer, among many others, so my code has ended up running in places I will never see. That one still feels slightly unreal.
