💡 What: Replaced whole-list iterations (`for cell in self.cell_list: if cell.type == ...`) with `self.cell_list_by_type(TYPE)` in hot path step functions. 🎯 Why: Iterating over the entire cell list and checking types in Python is slow. Using `cell_list_by_type` leverages the optimized underlying C++ container. 📊 Impact: Significantly faster execution of step methods every MCS, reducing simulation time by avoiding Python-side type checks. 🔬 Measurement: Run the simulation and measure MCS execution time before and after.
