…n, and add a CLI dry run Optimize Apps remembers the apps it optimized in place. When one of them has removable code again, usually because it updated itself, it is labeled with its version change and Optimize Again selects just those apps for the usual confirmation. Optimize Apps scans on opening once there is a history, and again when its results are over ten minutes old. The window keeps the frame macOS restores instead of being re-centered on every launch (#16). archify.py -n/--dry_run lists the binaries a run would thin and the space that would free, using the same plan as a real run, without copying or changing anything (#2). Apps that update themselves usually put back the code for other Macs that Archify removed, and until now the only way to notice was to scan again and recognize them in the list. Optimize Apps now remembers the apps it optimized in place, on this Mac only, and when one of them has removable code again it is labeled with its version change. Optimize Again selects just those apps and opens the usual confirmation, so administrator approval, open-app handling and rollback are unchanged. Once there is a history, Optimize Apps scans on opening, and again when its results are more than ten minutes old.
The window now opens where it was left (#16). SwiftUI already saved and restored the frame, but Archify re-centered the window on every launch because it looked for a frame under a different name.
The command-line tool gains
-n/--dry_run, which lists the binaries a run would thin and the space that would free, using the same plan as a real run, without copying or changing anything (#2).Info.plist files read for the history are opened without following links or blocking, and only as regular files, since apps can be changed by others.
Closes #16.
