Website for the 3rd Workshop on NLP and Agentic AI for Children (NLP4CHL) at ACL 2027 — Growing Up with AI: NLP and Agentic AI for Children.
Children are increasingly growing up with large language models, multimodal models, and AI agents that enable persistent interaction, personalization, planning, and tool use. Most foundation models, however, are designed and evaluated for general or adult users. This workshop brings together researchers in NLP, agentic AI, education, developmental psychology, pediatrics, HCI, and responsible AI to advance models, datasets, benchmarks, evaluation methods, and interdisciplinary approaches for AI systems that children can safely learn, develop, and grow with.
- NLP and Foundation Models for Children's Growing Minds — developmentally appropriate data, representations, personalization, and generation strategies.
- Language Agents and Agentic AI for Children — memory, planning, tool use, and persistent interaction; when agents should intervene and how to preserve safety and autonomy.
- NLP for Children's Education and Learning — tutoring, feedback, adaptive learning, pedagogical strategies, and scaffolding reasoning.
- AI and Children's Psychological and Social Development — trust, emotional development, relationships, and avoiding dependency or overtrust.
- NLP and Agentic AI for Child Health — pediatric communication, clinical reasoning, caregiver coordination, and decision support for rare and complex diseases.
