EIMS Contributor Covenant Code of Conduct

1. Our Pledge

We as members, contributors, and maintainers pledge to make participation in the Enterprise Infrastructure Management System (EIMS) a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, visible or invisible disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, level of technical experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.

We pledge to act and interact in ways that contribute to an open, welcoming, diverse, inclusive, and highly professional engineering community.

2. Our Standards

Examples of behavior that contribute to creating a positive engineering environment include:

  • Demonstrating empathy, patience, and politeness when addressing conflicting architectural viewpoints.
  • Being respectful of differing operational viewpoints and technical software design philosophies.
  • Accepting supportive technical criticism and performing rigorous code reviews gracefully.
  • Focusing on best engineering practices and community excellence above subjective ego.
  • Using inclusive, professional, active voice communication across issues, comments, and documentation.

Examples of unacceptable behavior by participants include:

  • The use of sexualized language or imagery, and unwelcome sexual attention or advances.
  • Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks during code reviews.
  • Public or private harassment of fellow contributing software engineers.
  • Publishing others' private physical or electronic addresses without explicit authorization.
  • Other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a rigorous professional workspace.

3. Enforcement & Responsibilities

Project maintainers are responsible for clarifying and enforcing our standards of unacceptable behavior and will take appropriate and fair corrective action in response to any behavior that they deem inappropriate, threatening, offensive, or harmful.

Maintainers have the right and responsibility to remove, edit, or reject commits, pull requests, issues, and code comments that do not align with this Code of Conduct or our canonical EDS v1.0.0 documentation rules.
