Why

The pnpm-managed Node runtime does not include npm. Trusted publishing needs a compatible npm CLI, so the release workflow must ensure npm publish resolves to it.

Changes

  • Install npm@latest through pnpm before semantic-release.
  • Run the same install and print npm --version in PR CI to verify the CLI is available without publishing.

Validation

  • git diff --check passes.
  • PR CI will run package checks and the npm CLI install.
  • This PR does not publish a package.
