docs: record the fifth pass in the review ledger
Batch I. The original task-test gap is closed: two confirmed 4-directional CC0 character sources, and the Kenney set correctly recorded as front-facing only. Notes the correction to the fourth pass's paper-doll claim, that the Ninja Adventure layout was verified from the author's game repo because the itch download is behind a form, and that the same open-the-pack method is what the three untagged tile packs now need. Took the fourth pass's next action. Batch I. **The original task-test gap is now
10+
closed**, four passes after it was first measured.
11+
12+
- Executed: downloaded and opened the three character sheets, and recorded what each
13+
actually ships rather than what its description implies.
14+
- `ninja-adventure` — **4-directional**. 64x112 per character on a 16px grid: four
15+
columns for down, up and both sides, seven rows of frames.
16+
- `armm1998-zelda-like` — **4-directional**. 272x256 sheet of 16x32 frames, four
17+
facings, four-frame walk plus a sword set in each direction.
18+
- `kenney-roguelike-characters` — **front-facing only**. 918x203 on a 16px tile with
19+
1px spacing: bodies, hair, clothing, armour, shields and weapons, every frame the
20+
front view. No side or back facings, no animation frames anywhere in the pack.
21+
Tagged `4-directional` and `front-facing` so site search reaches them.
22+
- **Correction to the fourth pass.** The `kenney-roguelike-characters` note claimed
23+
variants were "separate sprites rather than a layered paper doll". The sheet shows
24+
the opposite: it is a layered parts kit meant to be composited. What it lacks is
25+
turning, not layering. Fixed. The lesson is the same one the fourth pass recorded
26+
about perspective: the sheet answers questions the store page does not.
27+
- `verified:` deliberately unchanged on all three. Frame layout is not licence text,
28+
and the findings sit in Notes rather than Evidence because an Evidence line in this
29+
repo means proof of licence and commercial stance.
30+
- Sources opened: `kenney_roguelike-characters.zip` from the Kenney asset page,
31+
`gfx_3.zip` attached to the OpenGameArt submission, and `content/character/*/sprite.png`
32+
in [pixel-boy/NinjaAdventure](https://github.com/pixel-boy/NinjaAdventure), the
33+
author's own game repo built from the itch pack. **The itch download itself is behind
34+
a form**, so the Ninja Adventure layout is verified from that repo rather than from
35+
the pack archive; a future run with a browser could confirm against the itch zip.
36+
- Deferred, unchanged: `tenacity`'s licence (Codeberg 403s automated requests), the
37+
eight decision-support clusters without comparison lines, the three deliberately
38+
untagged tile packs, and the `camera_perspective` scope question for `characters`
39+
and `3d`.
40+
- Next highest-value action: **the three untagged tile packs**
41+
(`kenney-1-bit-pack`, `kenney-tiny-dungeon`, `ox72-dungeon-tileset`). This pass
42+
showed the method works and is cheap: download the pack, look at it, record what is
43+
there. Those three are the last 2D entries where the catalog knows less than it
44+
could about a field it already exposes in the UI.

`kenney-roguelike-characters`, `armm1998-zelda-like` and `ninja-adventure` and record
34-
what directional coverage each actually ships. That is the one remaining question
35-
behind the original task-test gap, and it is now the only thing standing between the
36-
catalog and a confident answer to "where do my top-down characters come from".
71+
- Next highest-value action: ~~**open the character sheets**~~ — done in the fifth
72+
pass above. Two of the three turn; the Kenney set does not.
