catalog: layered parallax backgrounds and match-3 gems
Closes the two leave points left by the platformer and puzzle task
tests. Each OpenGameArt page read, and each archive downloaded to the
scratchpad to measure it and read any bundled licence, on 2026-09-23.
- ansimuz-industrial-parallax (CC0): four PNG layers plus PSD; CC0 in
the OGA field and in ansimuz's bundled license.txt.
- gustavo-saraiva-city-parallax (CC0): four 240x135 pixel layers.
- bondoki-rotating-gems (CC0): seven animated gem colours with
heart-bomb and rainbow-bomb special pieces; delivered as GIFs, which
the entry says although the page says PNG.
- sylly-gem-match-3 (CC0): four gems in six colours, PNG and SVG;
bundled License.txt names Andrew Tidey and CC0.
Not added: GrumpyDiamond's Parallax Mountain Background. Its OGA page
says CC0, but the licence file inside the download says CC-BY-3.0
with credit. A source that contradicts itself is not a CC0 entry.
Counts 315 -> 319 (2D 54).

A night-time industrial skyline split into four seamless, looping layers for a scrolling side-view game, by Luis Zuno (ansimuz), CC0. The catalog's first background supplied as separate layers: move each at its own speed and you have parallax.

## Notes
23
+
24
+
-**Measured from the download, 2026-09-23:** four PNG layers (`foreground` 272x104, `buildings` 272x150, `far-buildings` 213x142, `bg` 272x160), the layered PSD, and a `license.txt`
25
+
- Small pixel-art canvas, about 272 pixels wide. Scale with nearest-neighbour filtering (in Godot, the texture filter set to Nearest) or it will blur
26
+
- One scene. ansimuz is the author of [ansimuz-sunnyland](ansimuz-sunnyland.md); ansimuz's paid packs on itch.io are separate and not covered here
27
+
- OpenGameArt hosts it; the CC0 is in both the submission's licence field and the author's bundled `license.txt`
28
+
29
+
## Evidence
30
+
31
+
- Live OpenGameArt submission (2026-09-23): "Author: ansimuz", "License(s): CC0", "It's completely looped, layered and seamless, ready to use on your game."
32
+
- Bundled `license.txt` (2026-09-23): "Artwork created by Luis Zuno (@ansimuz) License (CC0) You can copy, modify, distribute and perform the work, even for commercial purposes, all without asking permission"
Animated gems made for a match-3 game, CC0, from 2021: seven colours, plus heart-bomb and rainbow-bomb special pieces in each colour and three rainbow gems.
20
+
21
+
## Notes
22
+
23
+
- 40-frame rotation animations at 52x52 pixels per tile, per the author
24
+
-**Delivered as animated GIFs**, one per gem and special piece, plus one PNG (`gem_bomb_rainbow.png`). The description says PNG; the animations themselves are GIFs. For an engine, split the GIF frames into a sprite sheet
25
+
- No bundled licence file; the CC0 is the OpenGameArt licence field. See [`docs/provenance.md`](../../docs/provenance.md)
26
+
- For vector gems you can recolour and scale, see [sylly-gem-match-3](sylly-gem-match-3.md)
27
+
28
+
## Evidence
29
+
30
+
- Live OpenGameArt submission (2026-09-23): "Author: Bondoki", "License(s): CC0", published April 29, 2021
31
+
- Same page (2026-09-23): "Set of 7 differently colored rotating gems/jewels + 7*2 (heart bomb and rainbow bomb) in the appropiate color and 3 rainbow color gems for match-3 puzzle games. Animations contain 40 frames each and size per tile is 52x52 pixels"

# City Parallax Pixel Art (Gustavo Saraiva)
19
+
20
+
A tiny pixel-art city background in four parallax layers at 240x135, CC0. 240x135 is exactly an eighth of 1920x1080, so it scales cleanly to full HD at 8x.
21
+
22
+
## Notes
23
+
24
+
-**Measured from the download, 2026-09-23:** four PNGs at 240x135 each: `BG`, `Background 1`, `Middle`, `Foreground`. The whole archive is 6 KB
25
+
- Low detail by design. Suits a low-resolution pixel game; at higher resolutions it will read as sparse
26
+
- Scale with nearest-neighbour filtering to keep the pixels sharp
27
+
28
+
## Evidence
29
+
30
+
- Live OpenGameArt submission (2026-09-23): "Author: Gustavo Saraiva", "License(s): CC0", "Package complete Background and layer of parallax in pixel art, 240x135 px"
31
+
- Same page (2026-09-23): "Copyright/Attribution Notice: Not is required, enjoy :)"
Four gem shapes in six colours for a match-3 game, by Andrew Tidey (Sylly), CC0, with a vector source. Static pieces: pair with your own tweens for swaps and pops.
20
+
21
+
## Notes
22
+
23
+
-**Measured from the download, 2026-09-23:** 73 PNGs under `PNG/` (for example `PNG/Large/Gem Type1 Blue.png`), one SVG source, and a `License.txt`
24
+
- The SVG means you can re-render at any resolution or add colours, which matters on high-density phone screens
25
+
- No special pieces (bombs, rainbows); for those, see [bondoki-rotating-gems](bondoki-rotating-gems.md)
26
+
27
+
## Evidence
28
+
29
+
- Live OpenGameArt submission (2026-09-23): "Author: Sylly", "License(s): CC0", "Small gem match three set, 4 different gems, in six colours Comes with vector and png formats"
30
+
- Bundled `License.txt` (2026-09-23): "Gem Match Three by Andrew Tidey License (Creative Commons Zero, CC0) http://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/ You may use these assets in personal and commercial projects. Credit to me via name (Andrew Tidey) or link to website (andrewtidey.blogspot.co.uk) is appreciated but not necessary"
