"TigerTag" is a trademark of the TigerTag Project.
TigerTag refers to the RFID spool-tracking protocol and the cloud service
(tigersystem.io) that synchronizes filament inventory across devices.
You may reference "TigerTag" in a factual, descriptive way (e.g. "compatible with TigerTag", "works with the TigerTag cloud") without permission.
You may not use "TigerTag" as the name of a competing RFID protocol, cloud service, or product brand without explicit written authorization.
"Tiger Studio" is a trademark of the TigerTag Project.
Tiger Studio refers to the official desktop inventory management application published at github.com/TigerTag-Project/TigerTag-Studio-Manager.
You may fork the Tiger Studio source code (MIT License) and build your own application.
You may not name your fork or derivative application "Tiger Studio", "TigerTag Studio", or any name confusingly similar to "Tiger Studio" without explicit written authorization.
If you fork Tiger Studio and distribute it under your own name, displaying "Powered by Tiger Studio" is mandatory. This is a condition of using the Tiger Studio codebase, alongside the MIT copyright notice requirement.

The MIT License governs the source code — it allows you to use, modify, copy, and distribute the software, including commercially, with no royalties.
The trademark governs the names and brand — it ensures that products called "Tiger Studio" or "TigerTag" come from or are authorized by the TigerTag Project.
You can have MIT rights to the code and still be bound by trademark rules on the name. This is standard practice in open-source (Arduino, OpenWrt, Prusa Research, etc.).
