Look into the remaining NPC and BOSS drops that can't be tracked due to secret IDs #968

Description

@rdw-software

While working on the encounter detection, I wrote down a number of items that Rarity may not be able to track in Midnight. I don't have the time to look into each item individually, so I'll use this issue as a checklist (in case someone reports the item later). I don't think it's feasible to delay a release until every item has been tested; this would take forever and there's bound to be some that will have been overlooked no matter what.

Some of these can definitely be migrated, and indeed may already have been in the latest alpha. Others definitely can't, as far as I know anyway.

Not checked off = No resolution/needs testing (feel free to comment if you have more info)

Mounts:

  • Garn Nighthowl: Can probably use the NPC ID, or remove the item altogether (guaranteed drop, no one will farm it in a group now)
  • Mechagon Peacekeeper: Encounter or kill statistic should exist
  • Red Qiraji Resonating Crystal: Probably can't track it at all in Retail (should work in Classic)?

Pets:

  • Living Sandling: Cannot track secret NPC IDs inside the raid, but in LFR difficulty the council boss also drops it
  • Crystal of the Void: Should have an encounter or kill statistic since it's a raid boss (?)
  • Craboom: Should have an encounter ID (recent content)
  • Deviate Hatchling: Probably cannot track in dungeon (should still work in Classic)?
  • Filthy Bucket: Drops from a rare NPC = cannot track, presumably (no encounter or kill statistic exists)
  • Parrot Cage (Void-Scarred Parrot): Should be able to track with encounter ID, but need to review the drop sources again
  • Gizmo: May have an encounter ID but it may be using a different name?

Toys:

  • Toy Siege Tower / Toy War Machine: Should have kill statistic or encounter IDs (WIP in the encounter branch - mostly resolved)
  • Gastropod Shell: Probably cannot track now in Retail (should still work in Classic)
  • Vixx's Chest of Tricks: Rare NPC, no encounter ID or kill statistic (?)
  • Unstable Portal Emitter: Rare NPC, no encounter ID or kill statistic (?)
  • Bag of Furious Winds: Primalist Future is instanced content, so presumably cannot track (?) - if still sold by vendor, remove it?
  • Dragonflight elemental pets: Also can't track inside instanced content (possibly affects the siege event? Did not check)

TBD:

  • Torghast collectibles - technically there should be encounter IDs, but haven't looked into the exact requirements
    • Tower Deathroach
    • Frenzied Mawrat
    • Maw Stalker
    • Hissing Deathroach
    • Severs
    • Jar of Ashes
    • Maw Crawler
    • Torghast Lurker
    • Gilded Darknight
    • Box of Rattling Chains
    • Adamant Vaults Cell
  • Anything inside the WOD garrison may be secret also
    • Strand Crawler
    • Sack of Spectral Spiders
    • Riding Turtle
    • Red Goren Egg
    • Sun Sproutling
  • Torn Invitation (Withered Army Training - not sure if spell ID is secret now)
  • Brul: Aura ID may be secret in combat, but that's a niche case = ignored for now
  • Magnataur Hunting Horn / Giant Worm Egg: Cannot track individual NPCs, but encounter ID would likely work
  • Horrific Visions
    • Overly Sensitive Void Spectacles: NPC drop, probably cannot track anymore (?)
    • Mail Muncher / Nesting Swarmite: Not sure if spell IDs are secret now, if so cannot track (?)
