A skill is a portable markdown file (SKILL.md) that teaches an AI assistant a reusable workflow: when to trigger it, what steps to follow, and what good output looks like. Skills use the open Agent Skills format — YAML frontmatter (name + description) followed by markdown instructions — so the same skill works across assistants that support the format, including Meta's Muse.
No installers, no packages. Meta's Muse doesn't have an official skill-install flow yet, so using a skill takes seconds right in chat:
- Open the skill — on the website catalog or on GitHub at
skills/<name>/SKILL.md. - Paste the
SKILL.mdcontent into a chat with Muse, and add: "Please use this skill whenever I ask about <topic>. Remember it for our future conversations." - That's it. A skill is just text instructions — Muse follows them for relevant tasks, and you approve anything it does.
New to skills? Start with getting-started-with-muse-skills, which explains the format and the workflow in full. When Meta ships native skill support, these SKILL.md files are already in the right format.

Every skill is an original work: skills/<name>/SKILL.md with name, description, and category frontmatter, validated by scripts/validate.py. The machine-readable index is skills.json.
Alongside the originals, this repo republishes 1,749 curated third-party skills in skills-imported/, with per-skill attribution (source repo + license) in skills-imported.json and on every skill's page on the website. Every import was individually safety-scanned (no exfiltration, no installers, no prompt-injection payloads); permissive licenses (MIT / Apache-2.0) are preserved per skill.
Notable sources include anthropics/knowledge-work-plugins (264 role-based skills — sales, finance, legal, marketing, data, engineering and more — adapted for Muse AI), affaan-m/ECC (design taste, video, content, research, build quality), pbakaus/impeccable (frontend design commands + craft floor), higgsfield-ai/skills (AI media generation), emilkowalski/skills (animation & UI craft), vercel-labs/agent-skills, openai/skills, and hundreds more open-source collections. Where the original source couldn't be determined from the skill file, the entry is marked as a curated import — the full original text is preserved so you can trace it.
License note: original skills in
skills/are MIT (this repo). Imported skills inskills-imported/keep their own original licenses — check the attribution line on each skill before reuse.
