Each lab is structured like a support ticket — starting from the user’s issue, followed by investigation, identifying the root cause, and documenting the resolution.
To simulate a realistic working environment, I built a small lab using:
- Windows Server (Domain Controller with Active Directory & DNS)
- Windows client machine (user workstation simulation)
- Ubuntu Linux server
- VirtualBox internal network
This setup allows me to test how users, systems, and network services interact in a controlled environment.
I’m currently going back through the labs and revisiting some of the support scenarios I’ve worked on. I’m using this to refresh my knowledge and make sure I understand not just how to fix an issue, but also how to troubleshoot it step by step.

- Check the basics: I verify connectivity, account status, services, configuration, and system health.
- Gather evidence: I review error messages, logs, configuration, and test results.
- Isolate the cause: I also narrow the issue down to the most likely component or configuration.
- Apply the fix: I make the appropriate change while considering security and business impact.
- Verify the resolution: I confirm the system works as expected and, where possible, validate with the user.
- Document the outcome: I record the root cause, resolution, and any recommendations for preventing recurrence.
