Maybe this is an over correction in the wrong way? We can setup a shorter timeout from the requests already in flight (a race between a timeout of say 30s and the fail all response) and just create a flag to not accept new requests (that will get the fail response right away)

Agree
Also turns out Crawlee already stops taking new pages on migration and waits up to 20s for the ones in flight.
Let's do 25s then.

This JSDoc says every waiting caller receives a retry instruction.
sendResponseErrorinstead resolves a caller’s response when it contains handled results. State both outcomes so the exported API describes its contract accurately. As per path instructions, “Where JSDoc exists on exported APIs, verify it is accurate.”🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

🚀 Performance & Scalability | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick winStop migrated search requests before charging or enqueueing work.
failAllResponsesOnMigration()removes the response entry immediately, but an active search handler does not check that entry beforechargeSearch()or before adding crawler requests. The caller can receive the migration failure while the run still incurs a search charge and creates crawler work.Suggested fix

Two problems found while reviewing swithcing to the multi-tenant. Both are out of scope of solving creation of a new crawler per each request, which is why they are here rather than in #135 or #136.
Callers were never told about a migration
addTimeoutToAllResponsescollected the in-flight responses withObject.keys()on aMap, which always returns an empty array, so the loop did nothing.Fixing the iteration alone would not have delivered the message either. It was scheduled 60 seconds out, while a caller's own response timeout is
requestTimeoutSecs, 40 seconds by default, so the timeout won and the caller gotTimed out.instead. It is now sent the moment the migration is announced, which is the last point at which we know the process is still there to answer with. Callers who already have results still get them, as with any other error. The message is a plain string now:
handleSearchRequestwraps it in{ errorMessage }itself, so the oldJSON.stringifyproduced a doubly wrapped body.One caller's
debugModechanged logging for everyonelog.setLevelran insideprocessInputInternal, which executes on every Standby request, so the log level followed whichever request arrived last. It now runs once inmain.ts, from the Actor's own input. Per request, debugModekeeps doing what the input schema and README describe: addingcrawl.debugto that caller's own result.Worth noting
Because the migration notice releases the response entry immediately, in-flight crawler work for that caller is now cancelled at its next checkpoint. That frees crawler slots and stops pages being charged for when nobody is waiting, which the old dead code did not do.
