Library does not support Android's 16KB page size

Hey,

There is a new requirement for apps/updates to support it and Google Play reports the following:

Libraries that do not support 16 KB:
base/lib/arm64-v8a/libbroadcastcore.so
base/lib/x86_64/libbroadcastcore.so

I can see that starting version 1.23.0 the issue was solved by SDK developers.

Could you perhaps upgrade dependency to the latest 1.34.0 so apps that depend on ReactNative wrapper can continue working?

Hi,

I’m also facing the same issue with Google Play’s new 16KB page size requirement. The Play Store is flagging the following libraries from this package:

Libraries that do not support 16 KB:
base/lib/arm64-v8a/libbroadcastcore.so
base/lib/x86_64/libbroadcastcore.so

It appears that the React Native wrapper is still using an older version of the Amazon IVS Broadcast SDK. According to the IVS release notes, this 16KB page size issue was resolved starting from SDK version 1.23.0, and the most recent stable version is 1.34.0.

Could you please update the underlying IVS Broadcast SDK dependency to the latest version so that apps using this library can pass Google Play’s new compliance checks? This update is currently blocking our Play Store release.

I've actually resolved this issue myself, though it's far from perfect. You can fix this by using postinstall and patching the SDK version in the node_modules dependency directly. It works well in Expo CI/CD. Just consult AI gods about how to do this :)

Thank you for the help @kostas1 — the fix is working on Android.
Could you please help with the iOS side as well?

On iOS, the screen freezes and the app crashes.
I tested this on a real iPhone 11(iOS 26.0) with the New Architecture enabled, and React Native version 0.82.1.

I faced the same issue earlier, and the workaround provided was to use the forked package mentioned in Issue #12, and the solution was to use amazon-ivs-react-native-broadcast@next.

I am already using the @next version, but the issue still persists.

unfortunately i'm stuck with same issue as well. but i noticed that it's device specific. on my test iPhone SE it freezes, but on iPhone 15 Pro everything works well, so I passed the Apple app review by them not noticing the issue :)

But if you find a solution, please share it on this thread.

This worked for me — add the following to android/app/build.gradle inside the android block:

configurations.all {
    resolutionStrategy {
        force 'com.amazonaws:ivs-broadcast:1.23.0'
    }
}
