Adds DD Photos, a static photo-album site generator: it resizes exported photos to WebP and builds a fast, distraction-free gallery website that you host yourself (Apache/nginx, S3+CloudFront, or any static host). No server code or database runs at view time. Source: https://github.com/dougdonohoe/ddphotos — live gallery: https://ddphotos.donohoe.info

Same category as the already-listed sigal ("simple static gallery generator"), filed under Photo Galleries.

I am not sure if this is eligible for awesome-selfhosted as this seems really just to be a static website generator with an Apache server.

I'll look at those other sites. Just curious what the rules are since sigal is a static photo site generator and it is listed here. There are other static sites like hiccup.yml and homer.yml. DD Photos does generate a static site, but it also has software you run which manages and resizes your photos.

Also, it is not just an "Apache server." That is a deployment option, but it can also be deployed to nginx via rsync, and to S3, and to Cloudflare or Surge. There is also a companion Desktop app for managing all the config files.

since sigal is a static photo site generator and it is listed here

I think we should move it to https://jamstack.org/generators/, I will submit the change to https://github.com/jamstack/jamstack.org, it was added here in error (or a long time ago when we didn't have this guideline)

but it can also be deployed to nginx via rsync, and to S3, and to Cloudflare or Surge

As can any static, file-based site generator, which is cool. We just try to keep the list clean and manageable and to not duplicate the effort.

Got it. I submitted jamstack/jamstack.org#1083

Thanks for the help.

@Rabenherz112 are you willing to reconsider this policy? Jamstack hasn't merged a PR to add a site in over 6 months (last was Feb 10 2026). It's unclear if Netlify is supporting this anymore. Bevry is having its own issues (CI to merge new sites is failing for multiple reasons) and its UI isn't as nice as Awesome Self-hosted.

Thanks for your consideration.

Damn. We've had this problem before and it was debated extensively #740. We really do not want to take the burden of maintaining a list of static site/gallery generators, there are too many of them.

Last time @balupton endded up fixing the CI for https://staticsitegenerators.bevry.me/, maybe he could fix it again? (Hi!). It looks like "just" a token problem https://github.com/bevry/staticsitegenerators/actions/runs/33005613369/job/98301202414

Agree about jamstack.org, too bad, we should remove it. I'll reopen this PR as a reminder until this is all sorted out.

One other note on Bevry - their README states:

[Inactive] - website is inactive right now and doesn't update based on changes mentioned here. It's archived.

That was committed back on March 13, 2026.

There seems to be some activity going on to restore the Website, see bevry/staticsitegenerators#495
Therefore let's go ahead and just wait a bit
