Historical portfolio project. This is a student model and is not an official Monetary Authority of Singapore tool or publication.
This project examines the temporary increase in demand for new $2 notes during Lunar New Year. It proposes an Excel forecasting model and dashboard for estimating demand and exploring the cost of excess issuance, storage, replacement, and disposal.
The preview shows the workbook's stored 2022 scenario. It was rendered without executing the workbook's macros.

Report.pdf |
Project report, assumptions, methodology, and findings. |
Instructions are embedded in Proto.xlsm. Open the file in a desktop version of Microsoft Excel that supports macros. Review the workbook and its macro security prompt before enabling content, and work from a copy if you want to preserve the original artifact.
The workbook has not been validated against current currency-demand patterns, MAS processes, storage constraints, or current Excel versions. Treat its outputs as an academic modelling exercise rather than operational guidance.
Consult Report.pdf for the data sources, definitions, assumptions, and model interpretation. Any reuse should verify that the source data may be redistributed and that the assumptions remain appropriate for the intended period.
No open-source license has been applied. The project is shared for viewing as portfolio work. The workbook, report, and underlying source materials remain subject to their respective rights.
