A decoder and specifications for GameMaker modified version of QOI image format

This understanding is based on reverse engineering. The exact internal specifications or naming conventions used by GameMaker might differ. The format details were deduced by analyzing byte streams and pixel outputs from GameMaker-generated FIOQ files.

Requirements

• Pillow (pip install Pillow)

Usage

The script to convert fioq to png can be run from the command line:

python fioq_to_png.py <input_fioq_file> [options]

Arguments:

• input_fioq_file: Path to the input .fioq file.

Options:

• -o OUTPUT_PNG_FILE, --output OUTPUT_PNG_FILE: Path to save the decoded output image (default: input_fioq_file + .png).
