Not sure of the proper terminology but streaming with this player has obvious data loss/"clipping". On starting the first song of a stream, the music is "slowed" as if it was playing the packets exactly as it receives them. The clipping eventually clears up but surfaces again on segments with more complex sounds.
My setup is a bit strange perhaps as I set the audio output to be my AV Receiver (which is over optical). It's an older device and receives only 24 bit 96kHz at most; unsure if this would change anything.
I believe the issue comes from "sync error" frequently growing large (becoming yellow and in some cases, red). However, it also occurs when there is no other indication of issues (all green)...? Additionally, the UI would have me believe my AVR is getting sent 48kHz 32-bit despite Windows settings only declaring 24-bit, not sure if this has an impact. I'd imagine building a full buffer would help with this but if it has to do with the "perfect sync" of SendSpin, I'd like to disable it if this is the tradeoff...
I will note that this issue does not occur whatsoever when streaming over sendspin to my AndroidTV (Shield) over Chromecast on the same network and to the same receiver.
If this is on my end, I'd like to know what to do but if I can do anything to help the project I will do what I can. This app is quite literally EXACTLY what I've wanted for a LONG time and the Home Assistant integration (after setting up HA just today) is something I am very much looking forward to, but this is essentially unusable in this state despite being fine 90% of the time.
HA Server, also hosting MA:
- Dell Optiplex with plenty of resources and an i7 7th gen (can get details if relevant) and 8GB of RAM
- Stream Provider: YouTube Music
- Client: PC with AMD 5800X3D and 32GB of RAM
- Speakers: controlled by Denon AVR-1802
