OpenMercantil is an independent public-data platform for Spanish company search, BORME registry-event timelines, public-source business signals, downloads and API access.

It is useful for OSINT, due diligence, journalism and civic-tech workflows that need a free discovery layer for Spanish companies before checking official BOE/BORME or Registro Mercantil documents.

If you’re mapping company‑research resources, one practical challenge analysts hit is that registry data is fragmented by jurisdiction and each source has a different interface (search forms, PDFs, gazettes, etc.). For OSINT or corporate diligence workflows it helps to have a unified way to query multiple registries and still keep the original source links. One approach we’ve been using is exposing registry access via an MCP server so investigators or AI tools can query multiple national registries through one interface.
