Phase 53 complete: full regression pass, update docs

Regression: 47/49 VM, 47/49 TreeWalk (2 pre-existing issues),
6/6 e2e tests. 49 upstream test files total (44 upstream + 5 SCI).
Updated roadmap with Phase 52-53 entries.
