  • Expo 57 → 58 (RN 0.88.1, React 19.3, gesture-handler 3) via expo install --fix; RN 0.88 type fixes, async File.write(), drop with-scene-lifecycle (SDK 58 template generates the SceneDelegate)
  • NativeTabs from stable expo-router/native-tabs with activityEnabled (hidden tabs keep state, stop rendering)
  • Document scanning as attachment source (CameraView.scanDocumentAsync, multi-page PDF)

- expo 58.0.22, React Native 0.88.1, React 19.3, gesture-handler 3, reanimated 4.7, worklets 0.13 via expo install --fix (adds expo-image, expo-localization, expo-status-bar config plugins)
- RN 0.88 types: refs use ScrollViewInstance/TextInputInstance, null props become undefined, typed StyleSheet.flatten
- File.write() is async in SDK 58; persist uses writeSync to keep the save-on-background behaviour
- Drop plugins/with-scene-lifecycle: the SDK 58 template generates SceneDelegate and the scene manifest itself, and the plugin would have pointed Info.plist at the old EXExpoAppSceneDelegate
- NativeTabs activityEnabled: inactive tabs are hidden with React Activity, keeping their state while they stop rendering
- New attachment source: system document scanner (VisionKit / ML Kit via expo-camera scanDocumentAsync), sent as one multi-page PDF; page JPEGs if no PDF comes back. Shown only where isDocumentScannerAvailable
- iOS: own item in the composer menu and the task action sheet. Android: dialogs hold three buttons, so Camera asks Take Photo / Scan Document
