Fetch Metadata Locking app in v3.0.0

Is the "Fetch Metadata" button still broken in v3.0.0? Whenever I click on it, it locks the app up completely.

Is there some configuration I have not done in order to get this to work?

I've disabled a few of the metadata providers in /app/calibre-web/cps/metadata_providers/ and it appears to speed things up. What I think is happening is that the app blocks the process until all metadata providers have returned from their requests.

It may be useful to have the ability to disable metadata providers on a global level. Additionally, if these fetches can happen in a separate process and discarded/cancelled when the user navigates away from the fetch metadata modal, that would greatly improve the experience.
