Code of Conduct

Our Pledge

We, the Department of Computer Science at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Adarsha Mahavidyalaya (PDUAM), Amjonga, are committed to maintaining a respectful, inclusive, and professional environment for everyone involved with this project — including students, faculty, contributors, and visitors.

We pledge to make participation in this project a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, background, disability, ethnicity, gender identity, level of experience, nationality, religion, or any other personal characteristic.

Our Standards

✅ Expected Behavior

  • Be respectful and professional in all communications
  • Use welcoming and inclusive language
  • Accept constructive feedback graciously
  • Give proper credit and attribution for contributions
  • Focus on what is best for the department and its students
  • Report issues responsibly (see SECURITY.md)

❌ Unacceptable Behavior

  • Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination of any kind
  • Publishing or sharing others' private information without consent
  • Deliberate disruption of the project or its services
  • Submitting malicious code, spam, or intentionally broken contributions
  • Misrepresenting yourself as an official maintainer or department representative
  • Using this project or its infrastructure for unauthorized or commercial purposes

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to:

  • This GitHub repository and all its contents
  • Issues, pull requests, and discussions on GitHub
  • Any communications related to this project (email, social media, etc.)
  • The live e-Portal at https://csc.pduamamjonga.in

Responsibilities

The project maintainers are responsible for clarifying the standards of acceptable behavior and are expected to take appropriate and fair corrective action in response to any violations.

Maintainers have the right to remove, edit, or reject comments, commits, code, issues, and other contributions that are not aligned with this Code of Conduct.

Enforcement

Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be reported to:

All reports will be reviewed and investigated promptly and confidentially. The department reserves the right to take any action deemed appropriate, including permanent removal from the project.

Consequences

Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in:

Severity Consequence
Minor — inappropriate language or conduct Written warning
Moderate — repeated violations or harassment Temporary suspension from contributions
Severe — malicious actions or serious misconduct Permanent ban from the project

Attribution

This Code of Conduct is adapted from the Contributor Covenant, version 2.1, and tailored to the context of this academic institution project.
