Wildcard rules created but not visible in the rule window.(2.42)

Instead of being created in the wildcard_rules.json file which is out of function if MFW is turned off.
Proposal, select a folder and execute command that will create real firewall rule for all *.exe and *.dll in the folder and sub-folders.
Similar to this:

netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="[MFW] WildcardBlock - %%~na" dir=out program="%%a" action=block description="block internet access for all .exe and .dll file in a specific folder and sub-folders" enable=yes

To test, save as *.cmd and run it from the folder in which you want to block exe/dll, then look at the rule

Thank you, I'll look more into it. I thought about something like this, but I will also have to make it auto-update and clean up unused ones after a while, or it could lead to too many rules for apps like browsers over time.

There is no other way except "add folders contents", or like until now, which is not the happiest solution.

I implemented a way to create a rule for all files in a folder in version 2.5. In the settings tab, there is also a button to remove all rules if the .exe is no longer present.

Would it be helpful to add a function to create a rule for all files in the advanced rule window?

I don't think it's necessary, now you have complete fine regulation over all possible connections.
The popup when scanning should perhaps be invisible.

Yeah, I'm not sure how to best deal with the memory in this case. Users complain if it uses as much memory as something like Windows task manager, so I set it to automatically release from memory tabs not in use, and then reload when they are clicked on. So the popup is there to prevent the page from looking frozen.
