Nikon/Gphoto driver crashing

I did a complete update on my astroarch RPi4, and now I can't seem to get the Nikon D5100 going with kstars (3.8.2 stable) now. The gphoto driver crashes with this message: “Unable to establish:\n+ Gphoto CCD\nPlease ensure the device is connected and powered on” The Nikon error is basically the same except for the name.

lsusb shows the camera
dmesg shows the camera.

Before I did the complete uninstall/reinstall, gphoto2 --auto-detect also showed the camera (in PTP mode). Now it doesn't show anything.

Any ideas what might cause this? Is there something new I have to do since the upgrade?

The Nikon driver and Gphoto probably have bugs. You should recompile Kstars and Indi from Git to see if an update has been released. Version 3.8.3 of Kstars should be released soon

Thanks very much. A bit disappointed if this is a driver bug. I had downloaded the latest precompiled bits trying to fix kstars suddenly constantly crashing on me. Now Kstars stays up but the camera driver crashes. LOL - just my luck! Cheers!
