Instagram Link Not Redirecting Properly #487

Closed

Description

@DURVA23

I tested the Connect section of the website and noticed that the Instagram link is not functioning properly. Clicking on the Instagram option does not redirect the user to the Instagram page. Instead, it scrolls the website to the top.

Steps to reproduce:
Open the website
Go to the Connect section
Click on the Instagram link/icon
Observe that the page scrolls to the top instead of opening Instagram

Expected behavior:
The Instagram link should redirect users to the correct Instagram profile in a new tab or the intended external page.

Actual behavior:
Clicking the Instagram link does not navigate anywhere and only scrolls the page to the top.

    @DURVA23 is this under GSSoC?
    also, there is no instagram link for this website, so do you have any other placeholders in mind for this issue?

    Yes, this is under GSSoC. Since GitHub and LinkedIn links are already present and working, I can add another social media link such as YouTube or X (Twitter) and ensure that the external redirection behavior works correctly instead of scrolling to the top of the page.
