Mobile Responsiveness Issue: Navbar Breaks on Smaller Screens #669

Closed as duplicate

Description

@hrudulmmn

Problem Statement
The current navbar layout is not fully responsive on mobile devices. On smaller screen sizes, navbar items overflow, overlap, or break the layout, affecting usability and overall user
experience.

Current Behavior
When viewed on mobile or narrow screens:

  • Navigation links may overflow outside the viewport
  • Menu items appear cramped or misaligned
  • The navbar layout breaks visually
  • Users may face difficulty accessing navigation options

Expected Behavior
The navbar should adapt properly to smaller screen sizes by:

  • Maintaining a clean responsive layout
  • Providing easy navigation access on mobile devices
  • Preventing overflow and layout breaking

Proposed Solution
Implement a responsive hamburger menu for mobile devices

Suggested Enhancements

  • Add a hamburger icon for smaller screens
  • Collapse navigation links into a mobile menu
  • Implement smooth open/close transitions
  • Maintain consistent styling across desktop and mobile views

Optional Improvements

  • Add animated menu transitions
  • Close menu automatically after navigation
  • Improve touch interaction spacing

Impact
This enhancement would:

  • Improve mobile responsiveness
  • Enhance user experience on smaller devices
  • Create a cleaner and modern navigation UI
  • Increase accessibility and usability

Scope of Work
Analyze current navbar responsiveness issues
Implement responsive breakpoints
Add hamburger menu functionality
Optimize navbar styling for mobile screens
Test across different screen sizes/devices

Hi, @devanshi14malhotra , I would like to work on this issue under GSSoC 2026.

I have reviewed the navbar responsiveness issue and would like to implement a responsive hamburger menu for smaller screen sizes while maintaining consistent styling and smooth navigation behavior across devices.

I’ll analyze the current layout issues, implement proper responsive breakpoints, and ensure the navbar works cleanly on mobile screens without overflow or alignment issues.
