Summary

Adds a Mood Book Recommender mini app — users select a mood and get personalized book recommendations with cover images, descriptions, and "why this book" notes, can save favorites to a localStorage-backed "My Shelf," and can search/filter results by title or author.

🛠️ Changes Made

• Added public/MoodBookRecommender/ with index.html, style.css, script.js, and books.json (a 36-book dataset spanning 9 moods)
• Implemented mood-based filtering, dynamic book card rendering, live search/filter by title or author, and a "My Shelf" feature with save/remove backed by localStorage
• Added active mood button highlighting and a subtle card entrance animation for polish
• Added a fallback for missing book cover images (Open Library occasionally returns a blank placeholder image instead of a 404)
• Added the corresponding entry to projects.json (projectNo: 247)

🧪 Testing and Verification

Local Validation

• I have run node scripts/validateProjects.js locally and it passed with zero errors related to this project (one unrelated pre-existing error was found for a different project's file path)

Browser Compatibility Check

• Tested and verified in Google Chrome
• Tested and verified in Mozilla Firefox
• Tested and verified in Safari / Microsoft Edge

Responsive & Accessibility Checks

• Verified responsive layout on Mobile viewports (using DevTools)
• Verified responsive layout on Tablet viewports
• Keyboard navigation and focus outlines checked
• Semantic HTML and ARIA labels checked (aria-label added on each major section)
