Question about original O_C hardware modification

Hey!
Thanks for your tremendous work on Phazerville Firmware :)

I have a some questions I couldn't find the answer in FAQ section of the site, I hope I didn't miss something obvious, sorry if that's the case!

I own two Ornament & Crime modules:

• One T32 14HP O_C with Oscillosaurus panel
• One T32+VOR 1uO_C 4Robots by Plum Audio

I'd like to replace the Teensy 3.2 by a Teensy 4.1 on both of them.

3 questions:

• Which Teensy 4.1 should I get? TEENSY41_NE or TEENSY41? Does it change anything in this context?
• In one of your videos I saw you cutting a wire with a cutter, is this operation is required?
• I see the Phazerville 2.0 firmware you build for T41 are made to work with ORN8 (but compatible with O_C), so I understand it will also work with both my O_C + T41 mods. Do I have anything to change in the build so it works with my "half" modules (compared to the ORN8 8-channel I/O) ?

There's nothing to gain on O_C hardware by using Teensy 4.1 instead of 4.0. That being said, you could easily swap the 14HP unit with a T40, or a T41 if you go through the trouble of getting extra tall pin headers so it doesn't collide with the power header....

For Plum Audio, it's better to stick with T32. If you insist on desoldering the MCU, you could replace it with a T40 and disable the VOR circuit with the jumper - VOR depends on a pin feature that was on T32 but not T40.

If you do end up with ORN8 hardware that can utilize T41, the Ethernet variant is not currently necessary, but there exists the possibility to add firmware support for things like Pioneer Sync, or RTP-MIDI.

I should also clarify: my T41 firmware build does not currently accommodate O_C hardware, but you can run the T40 firmware on a Teensy 4.1 instead.

The T40 and T41 firmwares both feature the same set of CV Applets but with slightly different front-ends - Hemisphere for O_C on T40, and Quadrants for ORN8 on T41.

I won't touch my 1uO_C then, and get a Teensy 4.0 with T40 firmware for the 3U 14HP module :)
