[Blazor] We should support updating and removing statically rendered root components #44937

Closed

Description

@javiercn

We have two ways of putting components into the page:

  • Statically: Via the <component tag helper or similar mechanism.
  • Dynamically: Via JS Root components.

JS Root components allows the app to interact with the component passing parameters and potentially/eventually eliminating it.

There is no such feature for statically rendered components, as they can only be added into the page, and they can't be removed or updated afterwards.

Components should have the same feature set whether we rendered them on the server or we rendered them dynamically from the document.

    Closing as completed. The root component model introduced in .NET 8 covers this, and the follow-up work is tracked in #51073, #51080 and #64508.
