System Info Module Fails to Complete

Hi @dspl1236,

I tried using the "System info" module, and it launches without any issues. However, it looks like the script is unable to complete. I've tried running it twice, and both attempts stop at:

It looks like the script stops executing at this point - steps 19 and 20 are not executed, the window disappears, and the final screen is not shown (done.png).

Could there be an issue with my system? How can I debug this?

PS. I'm glad I found this project, as I've been working on something similar over the last few months - reverse engineering the Audi MMI system because I want to create some custom tooling/apps for it. It looks like this project is going to save me a lot of time. Thanks!

Thanks — those two logs made this easy to pin down. Both runs stop at the same place: step 18's pidin fd. On some units that call (it walks every process's fd table) hangs, and since the script had no per-command timeout and no guaranteed completion screen, it never reaches steps 19–20 or done.png — so the window just vanishes. Nothing wrong with your setup.

Fix incoming: each heavy dump (pidin fd/mem, sloginfo, qdbc, …) now runs under a time budget, with a global watchdog and an always-on completion screen, so a hang can't wedge the whole run.

To unblock yourself right now, edit sysinfo_dump.sh on the SD and comment out the pidin fd line in step 18 — that alone lets the run finish. If you're up for it, I'd love a before/after log on the patched version. And glad the project's useful — good luck with your own MMI tooling!
