SQLite Data Controller

A local PyQt6 desktop app for editing SQLite databases in a spreadsheet-like interface, with CSV mirrors and multi-format export.

Features

  • Open or create SQLite database files.
  • Create, rename, rebuild, and delete tables.
  • Add, rename, delete, reorder, and multi-select rows and columns.
  • Edit or empty selected cells.
  • Search with highlighting or row filtering.
  • Preview CSV data as highlighted text or in a read-only table.
  • Use persistent change logs with undo and redo.
  • Export the current table as CSV, TSV, JSON, XLSX, or SQL.
  • Export all tables as XLSX or SQL, and create SQLite backups.

SQLite and CSV mirrors

SQLite is the source of truth. CSV mirrors are regenerated after successful table edits.

On first launch, the app uses:

data/database.sqlite
data/csv/<table_name>.csv

When you open or create another database, its CSV mirror is stored beside it:

example.sqlite
example_csv/<table_name>.csv

Setup

python -m venv .venv
.\.venv\Scripts\Activate.ps1
pip install -r requirements.txt

Run

python main.py

Test

python -m unittest discover
