Adding Nitter back

As the title says. I know the original Nitter shut down over a year ago now, but this domain https://nitter.poast.org/ still works fine so I would like for the script to be able to redirect Twitter links again to the Nitter instance that's still working. I tried to see if I could do it myself by editing a few lines in the script as before, but it still won't redirect. I might be doing it the wrong way maybe, but I don't really know for certain.

I would really like it if it could be done in some way through this script as I don't want to have to install yet another browser extension.

This script uses farside.link to check if an instance is still up or not. But for the people who don't want to use farside.link, you
can disable it from here:

You know what, it wasn't even your script I was using but someone else's, I didn't notice it before just now since they have very similar names. I just installed it and it actually still redirects to Nitter unlike the other one, but now I have a new problem though since you've set the updates to overwrite any manual changes made to the script from the user's end. I guess it doesn't really matter either way now. Thanks for your help though.

Actually, I would like it if I could still update while retaining any changes I make to the script. I only really need this for Twitter, and not anything else. Would that be possible?

What you are asking is actually a very reasonable feature and there is an issue about it too (#32), but sadly, my primary project is not this anymore, I still add small new features and services when someone creates an issue but adding a configuration option means a lot of rewriting will happen. And the project is mostly in maintenance mode.

That said, It would be very comforting to see zero issues in here so I'll consider adding a persistent configuration feature in the coming weeks.
