Updates astroid from 4.0.4 to 4.3.4

v4.3.4

What's new in astroid 4.3.4?

Release date: 2026-10-08

Bug Fixes

  • Fix a RecursionError when building a module from a live object that holds a container containing itself.

    Closes #2974 Closes pylint-dev/pylint#10459

  • Arguments.default_value() no longer raises IndexError when a keyword-only argument repeats the name of *args or **kwargs, as in def f(x, *y, y).

    Closes #3259

  • Fix an infinite loop when introspecting a live class that exposes itself, or a sibling class, as one of its own attributes.

    Closes #3284

  • Fix a TypeError crash when inferring random.sample() on a sequence whose elements are inferred as Instance.

    Closes #3310

  • Catch ValueError during comparison inference (such as invalid byte values in bytes membership checks) and return Uninferable instead of raising an uncaught exception.

    Closes #3333

  • A function whose body is only ... is now inferred to return Uninferable instead of None, the same as a function whose body is only pass. This is the astroid part of the fix for a false positive not-callable in pylint when calling a ... property stub, such as the sqlalchemy.func helpers.

    Refs #3347 Refs pylint-dev/pylint#8138

=================== astroid's ChangeLog

The changes for astroid 4.3.0 and later are documented in doc/whatsnew/ using towncrier: add a news fragment in doc/whatsnew/fragments/ instead of editing this file.

What's New in astroid 4.1.2?

Release date: 2026-03-22

  • Fix crash accessing property fset in generic classes with type annotations. Closes #2996

  • Fix infinite recursion caused by cyclic inference in Constraint.

  • Fix RecursionError in _compute_mro() when circular class hierarchies are created through runtime name rebinding. Circular bases are now resolved to the original class instead of recursing.

    Closes #2967 Closes pylint-dev/pylint#10821

  • Fix DuplicateBasesError crash in dataclass transform when a class has duplicate bases in its MRO (e.g., Protocol appearing both directly and indirectly). Catch MroError at .mro() call sites in brain_dataclasses.py, consistent with the existing pattern elsewhere.

    Closes #2628

  • Fix FunctionModel returning descriptor attributes for builtin functions.

    Closes #2743

  • Catch MemoryError when inferring f-strings with extremely large format widths (e.g. f'{0:11111111111}') so that inference yields Uninferable instead of crashing.

    Closes #2762

  • Fix ValueError in __str__/repr and error messages when nodes have extreme values (very long identifiers or large integers). Clamp pprint width to a minimum of 1 and truncate oversized values in error messages.

    Closes #2764

Updates iniconfig from 2.3.0 to 2.3.1

Release notes

Sourced from iniconfig's releases.

Version 2.3.1

Fixes

  • Parsing values with many continuation lines is now linear instead of quadratic in time (#78, regarding #77).
  • A leading UTF-8 BOM is now stripped when reading INI files. Files saved by Windows editors used to fail with ParseError (#76, thanks @Pitchfork-and-Torch).

Internal

  • iniconfig._parse.ParsedLine.value is now a list of lines. This is private API.

9.0.0

isort 9.0.0 is the result of several alpha and beta releases, as well as a small number of fixes added after the last beta. For release notes for the individual alphas and betas we would like to refer to:

Skipped version numbers are the result of changes to our release infrastructure that broke while creating the actual releases.

Please find below the full release notes for version 9.0.0, the newest release of isort after version 8.0.1.

isort 9.0.0 contains some significant changes and improvements. Most notably there is now support for Python 3.15 and its lazy imports and we have included several performance improvements as well as providing mypyc compiled wheels for all major platforms and supported versions of Python. In our own tests we saw speeds ups of more than 2x and 3x times, but this is highly dependent on the codebase isort needs to inspect.

Updates packaging from 25.0 to 26.3

Release notes

Sourced from packaging's releases.

26.3

What's Changed

Features

  • Add a public VersionRange API and SpecifierSet.to_range(), representing the versions a specifier set accepts as an interval set that supports intersection, union, difference, complement, set relations, membership tests, and filtering. VersionRange.to_specifier_set() converts a range back to a SpecifierSet where a PEP 440 form exists. (#1267, #1270, #1298)
  • PEP 808: accept Metadata-Version: 2.6. (#1194)
  • Add a limit argument to parse_tag() for compressed tag sets. (#1220)
  • Add a prefer_sdist_predicate argument to Pylock.select() to prefer source distributions over wheels for selected packages. (#1334)
  • Add pure_python_tags() to generate the pure-Python tags for a Python version without touching the running platform. (#1346)
  • Add SpecifierSet.is_subset(), SpecifierSet.is_superset(), and SpecifierSet.is_disjoint(), which compare the versions two specifier sets accept. (#1313)

Behavior adaptations

  • Drop support for Python 3.8; packaging now requires Python 3.9 or later. (#1157)
  • Prefer native linux_* platform tags over manylinux and musllinux tags on Linux. (#160)

Fixes for versions and specifiers

  • Raise InvalidVersion instead of TypeError when Version is given a non-string. (#1319)
  • Raise InvalidVersion for non-string pre-release letters passed to Version.from_parts. (#1241)
  • Fix an AttributeError when hashing internally trimmed versions. (#1242)
  • Fix SpecifierSet.is_unsatisfiable for post-release boundary intersections. (#1257)

Fixes for requirements and markers

  • Make Requirement.__hash__ consistent with __eq__ for trailing-zero-equivalent specifiers (e.g. foo==1.0.0 and foo==1.0.0.0), so equal requirements hash equal and deduplicate in sets and dicts. (#1232)
  • Normalize requested extra names before comparing or hashing requirements. (#644)
  • Preserve a Requirement's specifier prereleases override across a pickle round trip. (#1204)
  • Raise InvalidRequirement instead of InvalidSpecifier when a requirement contains an invalid specifier. (#1332)
  • Clarify the error for post-release prefix wildcards like ==1.0.post1.*. (#1299)
  • Preserve quoting semantics when serializing marker values, so round-tripped markers parse back to the same marker. (#1213)
  • Keep the parentheses of a nested group when serializing markers. (#1316)
  • Normalize extra and dependency_groups values in nested markers at parse time. (#1246, #1310)
  • Raise UndefinedComparison when a set-valued variable like extras is used outside the membership form. (#1265)
  • Raise UndefinedEnvironmentName (a KeyError subclass) for missing environment keys during marker evaluation. (#1276)
  • Wrap malformed string literal errors in InvalidMarker / InvalidRequirement instead of leaking a low-level error. (#1249)
  • Reject requirements and markers with a trailing line break. (#1345)

Fixes for metadata and licenses

  • Collect all from_email validation errors into one ExceptionGroup instead of raising the first. (#1268)
  • Accept the UTF-8 charset case-insensitively in email payloads. (#1330)
  • Reject malformed Description-Content-Type values. (#1329)
  • Don't rewrite user values that contain {field} placeholders in error messages. (#1327)
  • Route multipart email payloads to unparsed instead of asserting. (#1247)
  • Make InvalidMetadata and CyclicDependencyGroup picklable. (#1328)
  • Fold every line boundary str.splitlines recognizes when writing a header with RFC822Message. (#1356)
