Make it clear not all configuration options are working yet #44
Description
In the ECA roadmap it is clear that support for NVIM is in-progress, but that is not mentioned anywhere in this repository.
For example, I tried to set auto_start_server=false and still got the Server ready to receive messages notification. That's because the only references to auto_start_server are in the default config and in the documentation. There is no control flow based on this flag.
It would be great to have that clearly stated somewhere in the plugin docs and in the README.md for this repo.

Yeah, I agree, @tomgeorge, @W3ND31 @joaopluigi can we remove that config until implemented? I don't know if we have any other on that state.

Yeah, there are others. I had the same problem trying to set
windows.edit.start_insert=falsefor example. It didn't do anything and there are no references tostart_insertoutside of the default config and docs. I can try to compile a more complete list of dead config options if that helps.ericdallo commentedon Sep 22, 2025

@PdPano #48 should enable the
auto_start_serverconfiguration, which is now set tofalseby default. The server starts when openingEcaChat, but starting it can be skipped by usingEcaToggleinstead. We can also discuss whether starting on Toggle is appropriate.joaopluigi commentedon Jan 7, 2026
start_insertshould also works now. I tried to clean from docs and config file everything that is not actually implemented.
